Andrea Rappaport | Divorce Podcast Host, Divorce Recovery Advocate, and Co-Host of “How Not to Suck at Divorce”

Andrea Rappaport is a podcast host, comedian, marketing strategist, and outspoken advocate for helping people leave unhealthy marriages and navigate divorce with clarity, confidence, and far fewer mistakes.

She is the co-host of the popular divorce podcast How Not to Suck at Divorce, where she and top family law attorney Morgan Stogsdill break down the realities of divorce, high-conflict relationships, custody battles, co-parenting challenges, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with ending a marriage. Their mission is simple: give people the divorce advice, divorce strategy, and emotional support they actually need - without the legal jargon or sugarcoating.

Andrea’s passion for helping others through divorce comes from deeply personal experience. After surviving an unhealthy marriage and going through her own difficult divorce, she rebuilt her life while managing a severe panic disorder that often followed periods of intense stress and trauma. What she learned during that process changed everything: divorce is not just a legal process: it’s a psychological, financial, and emotional transformation that most people are wildly unprepared for.

Today, Andrea uses her platform to help people recognize red flags in unhealthy relationships, avoid costly divorce mistakes, and rebuild their lives after divorce. Through her podcast, content, and community, she focuses on empowering people to be proactive instead of reactive when navigating divorce, co-parenting, and life after a toxic relationship.

Andrea is also the co-owner of Rappaport & Schaer, a Chicago-based strategic marketing firm that specializes in helping brands connect with consumers through emotionally intelligent storytelling and creative campaigns. Her background in comedy and performance gives her a unique ability to understand human behavior and craft messaging that resonates deeply with audiences.

A graduate of Chicago’s Second City Conservatory, Andrea has appeared on TODAY Parents, The Tamron Hall Show, Windy City LIVE, The Jam, and Great Day SA. Her story and work have also been featured in Voyage Chicago and Uploader Magazine.

When she’s not recording episodes of How Not to Suck at Divorce or helping clients grow their businesses, Andrea can usually be found attempting to keep her boys alive, laughing with her husband (who thankfully makes her laugh more than she ever made audiences laugh in her comedy career), or maintaining her self-proclaimed VIP status at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, and HomeGoods.

Andrea lives in the Chicago area and continues to advocate for people navigating divorce, unhealthy marriages, high-conflict relationships, and the complicated journey of rebuilding life after divorce.
